History

Graphic Era began in 1993 as an engineering institute in Dehradun.

In 2008, the UGC granted it Deemed-to-be-University status under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.

This allowed it to expand beyond engineering into management, law, computer applications, pharmacy, and the humanities.

Today, more than three decades later, it's one of Uttarakhand's most established private universities.

Campus & Infrastructure

The campus sits beside Rajaji National Park, next to the Clement Town cantonment area.

It includes smart classrooms, research labs, a central library, and campus-wide Wi-Fi.

Hostels, sports complexes, and open-air auditoriums round out the facilities.

Many students appreciate the campus for its green surroundings and relatively peaceful environment compared with many urban universities.

Accreditation & Recognition

Graphic Era holds a NAAC A+ grade, the highest rating given by India's National Assessment and Accreditation Council. This is an upgrade from the NAAC A grade it held since 2015.

Seven flagship programmes carry NBA accreditation: Computer Science, Electrical, Civil, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, and MBA. This makes GEU the only university in the Uttarakhand region with this many nationally accredited programmes.

The university is also approved by UGC and AICTE, and separately recognised by the AIU, BCI, the National Medical Commission, and the Indian Nursing Council.
